A Beautifully Proportioned Small James I Oak Open Cup Board
Having three shelves, each cut from a single oak board, and supported on elegantly turned pillars to the front, and square sectioned legs to the back.
The front and side rails are decorated within the run mouldings, within simple chip carving, embellished with stamp decoration.
Beneath the centre shelf is a concealed side-hung drawer.
Good, rich colour and surface.
English, probably Northern – Yorkshire Dales area, circa 1610-20.
Width 44 inches, height 46 inches, depth 14 inches.

The cup board is decorated with a collection of brass 17th century trumpet-based candlesticks.
