A Fine Small Charles II Oak Gateleg Table
The top, and each leaf, made from a single oak board, supported on a plain frieze, with moulded bottom edge. The crisply turned bobbin and reel-turned legs are joined by beautifully worn square stretchers, and terminate in the original bun feet.
The bobbin and reel-turning suggest the table was made in Derbyshire, circa 1680. Over years of polishing, the oak has achieved an outstanding deep rich colour and patina.
Top 30 inches by 24 inches, height 25 inches.
