A George II Enclosed Low Dresser

A fine early to mid eighteenth century oak low dresser. The three drawers retaining the original turned oak pulls. Beneath the drawers is a raised arched panel flanked by two cupboard doors. This style of fielded panel would suggest it was made in Shropshire.* The colour is a rich, dark oak which has been polished over the years to achieve a fantastic natural "skin". This piece was made purely as a base, never having had a rack - the proportions of a full dresser being very different.

English, Shropshire, circa 1730

Width 69 inches, depth 20 inches, height 34.5 inches.
