An Impressive 17th Century Oak Court Cupboard
The deeply carved top rail having a pair of stylised serpents, with trailing leaves emitting from their mouths. The two doors to the upper section each have a pair of lovebirds facing one another over a heart, whilst the fixed centre panel has a superbly carved lion. Below the shelf are three moulded-front drawers, each with secret locking devices. The lower doors, constructed of three moulded panels, have stylised floral carving in the horizontal panel.
In a totally original condition and having the very best colour and surface.
English, possibly Welsh/Gloucestershire borders, circa 1660.
