An Impressive Tudor Oak Six Plank Chest
The substantial single piece lid, decorated with run-moulding to the front and the back, and chip-carving to the ends, supported by the original iron hinges. The back, bottom and front all made from single boards of oak, the latter of which retains two iron lock-plates and hasp. The two end boards are slightly inset from the front and back and have a slightly forward-facing knee, whilst the boards themselves have a shaped, arched cut out.
Rich, deep colour and patina.
