A Fine Charles II Oak Livery Cupboard
The pair of doors, each containing six wonderfully carved lozenge panels, with flamboyant pennant-like terminals, are set within a run moulded framework above two “side-hung” drawers, with scroll-carved fronts.
The joiner has chosen his timber well for the panels, using mirror planks on each door. The colour and patina are quite exceptional.
These very distinctive lozenges are typical of the Yorkshire Dales, circa 1660-70.
Width 62 inches, depth 20 inches, height 67 inches.
