A Fine Charles II Oak and Cherry Wood Hanging Glass Case
Having an oak boarded back and ends, with single piece boards to the top and bottom, and a boarded shelf to the interior. The open front, retaining all the original turned cherry wood spindles, the centre five of which create a single door. It is unlikely this form of cupboard was ever used to store food, but far more likely that it was to show off the family’s highly valued glass.
English, circa 1680.
Width 28 inches, height 12.25 inches, depth 8 inches.
