Circle of Isaac Paling (circa 1640-1728)
A late 17thcentury portrait of a young gentleman – possibly Sir Pury Cust (1655-1698), contained in its original carved and gilded oval “Lely” style frame, with raised panels of scroll and flower decoration.

Note – Isaac Paling was born in Leiden, Netherlands, in 1640, but came to London in 1682, where he opened a studio, returning to the Netherlands in 1702.
