An Outstanding Charles II Open Low Dresser
A very classical 17th Century dresser. The two plank top is supported by a deep moulding above the three drawers, separated by split ballusters. The drawers retain the original brass pulls, and are decorated by a series of complicated mitred mouldings. Beneath the drawers the waist moulding is deep and heavy, and matches the heavily turned legs, which terminate in the original cup feet. The patination and colour are superb. This rare collector's piece of oak was for many years in the dining room at Buerton Old House, Nantwich, Cheshire.
English, circa 1660-1680.
