A Fine James I Carved Oak Armorial Panel

The central shield, with three escutcheons, set beneath a collar, with stylised flowers in the top corners and whorls set mid-way down.

The panel may well commemorate the marriage of Thomas Hitchin and Joanne Kempton on the 8^th July 1625, in Knebworth, Hertfordshire. If this is indeed the commemorative panel, then it would be in Charles I’s period.
