A 17th Century Oak Open Armchair
The open scrolled cresting, with stylised leaves and flowerheads, flanked by serpents heads, above a large panel, carved with a central carnation, with smaller flowerheads within leafy tendrils. The single plank seat, supported on gun barrel turned legs, joined by stretchers.
Lancashire, circa 1670-80.
37 inches high to the top of the crest, 22 inches wide across the arms, and 16 inches from floor to top of seat.
