A Rare William and Mary Oak Nursing Chair

A rare William and Mary oak nursing chair, of generous proportions. The low arms, set above a panelled seat, and supported on well-turned legs, which are joined by an intricately carved front stretcher, with turned baluster stretchers to the side and rear. The raised back panel is flanked by turned uprights terminating in an acorn finial and surmounted by a high cresting. The top crest, arm terminals and front stretcher all display flamboyant carved scrolls.
